
Artists making glass objects must have much more humility towards the material than even
the most famous fashion designers. You can’t trick glass. Colour, structure, shape... Detail,
ornament, accessories… You have to have a great deal of experience to achieve the effect
you dream of...
My glass changes with the time of day, the lighting, the location... There’s no fabric that has
so many colours at once!
Glass heated to liquid temperature behaves like a delicate fabric. You can conjure so much
out of it!
I used an old glass technique, known in Europe since the 16th century, and I “wove” stockings
on a burner. Which of the great stylists could have pulled that off?!
